These are a few of my favorite things: March 2015

1. Hard Candy Life - City Chic Poppin Pigments - Love when eyes pop with pigments
2. NYXcosmetics - Slim Lip Pencils "Mahogany" and "Soft Brown", perfect for day and night!
3. Glam up your brunch with Glitter Donuts! With just the look of these I am seriously considering a brunch wedding.
4. Color Luxe Fine Tip Gel Pens - I found these at Pigment in North Park and haven't written anything down in black ever since. Life's more fun in color :)

All Around Town...

Prepping Prepping Prepping....and sort of all over the place this week! Next week I will have a bit more time to post before my departure, so please pardon the interruption as I scramble for the upcoming road trip :) which is coming out great! So many great adventures await us!

And in the meantime, between errands during break, farewell lunches and dinners, I've been discovering some hidden gems in the city...just as I'm leaving! Figures :)

Green Street Vault - much like a food truck, but droppin street clothes, pumps & kicks...I like it...Derrick Cheung and Howard Travis are running this show and can be found all over Boston, just list for the sweet beats heading down the street!

Window dining on Newbury street at Umai - feels a little silly at first, but its such a great view!

The hidden Italian oasis that is Canestaro...this place has amazing food and a great atmosphere

Enjoying some liquid sunshine with Mer and Perla!

These are a Few of my Favorite Things: August Edition

It's been a pretty productive week and there is a lots to feel good about going into the weekend. With just a few things left to do on my list, I think I can really look forward to a good road trip and enjoying my time visiting new cities and spending time with friends along the way. Only a few weeks away, but time always flies!

These are some things I'd love to acquire once I have my apartment set up and once I get on my feet out there. That might become the hardest thing, keeping myself from spending my moolah on the road! It's gonna take some real resistance especially visiting cities like New Orleans and Austin!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend in store and some much needed R&R in the mix! Enjoy! xo

1. Alternative French
4. Log bowls - seems to me a cure for slouching while eating your cereal ;)
6. Better Half Blonde Ale package design concept and story
7. Book laptop case - can we say Penny from Inspector Gadget? I always wanted one of these!

Easy Breezy Summer Beauty

Summer is well under way. The weather is beautiful, social events & weddings galore, and plenty of hot beauty trends (some new and some that stayed with us) surfacing just about everywhere. Here are some of my favorite summer trends of the moment:

Cinemagraphs - A Must See

Photographer Jamie Beck and web designer Kevin Burg, who both have equally entertaining blogs, created an amazing series of animated GIFs called “cinemagraphs”. I'm obsessed.

They are stunning and capture the simplest of movements that make the whole image come to life. Some can be a little creepy, almost like those shuttered moments you see in old horror movies or something like The Ring. It's hard for me to look at the ones with the moving eyes because of this!

I'm pretty geeky for digital stuff and these guys just took ad animation to a whole new level. This is the kind of stuff that makes me want to learn more about the development side. I'm looking forward to seeing a lot more from these guys.

Wedding Fashion

It's wedding season - And who doesn't love a good wedding! It's a celebration of love, friendship, and family...not to mention the good food and dancing!

Here are some of my favorite wedding attendee fashions I've spotted this spring and summer for all kinds of ceremonies, whether lavish or casual. Some prices are out there, but I hopefully they will inspire you to find something similar! There are always copycats out there that are much more affordable...

2. REISS - Look familiar? Kate Middleton wore it recently to meet the Obama's
3. H&M
4. Adam
11. People Tree

It's the London Look.....

It's just a fun line to say isn't it? And you certainly can't do it without a pout.

Anyone waking up early for the Royal Wedding tomorrow? I know someone who is having a royal sleepover - yes CB I'm talking about you! :)

I know everyone has probably feel like they've heard enough about the Royal Wedding. I haven't really been watching a lot on it, so I thankfully haven't been overexposed (tee hee). But it's still a little exciting that it's here and I feel like it might be one of those moments in time where you don't want to miss it.

So if you can stand to get up a little earlier (a littler birdie told me the wedding is actually at 6!) to catch a glimpse of that handsome Harry...and those two getting married, then make yourself a mimosa and cheers to the Royals dahling!

1. Crown Wallpaper - Graham & Brown

3. Royal Treatment
4. Royal Magnets - Etsy
5. Beauregard Headband
6. No More Waity Katie Lip Gloss & Nail Polish - Butter London
7. Royal Cupcake

Stepping out for a Public Affair...

Alright, so the girl may think that chicken actually does come from the sea, but I still love her! And you have to hand it to her for putting together one giant money makin empire of super fashionable dresses, accessories, and shoes. I see the shoe collection at Macy's and at Marshalls and have always loved them because they are the perfect heel height, but I had no CLUE of all the wonderful dress pieces shes had! I'm obsessed! They're all very colorful, the patterns are vibrant and catch the eye. And the prices aren't bad either!

You can find all of the items above at the Jessica Simpson Collection.

I'd be bummed too pal...worth $750 million dollars....

Suit Up

Well it was a bit warmer today, which is nice...little bit closer to some full on Spring weather! Also the time of year known as "Time for a panic attack: It's almost bathing suit season".  Put the cookie down...slowly....

okay one more bite...

While I feel better I'm back in the gym...workin' on ma fitneSS...I know I'm not at the full blown Victoria Secret super model physique like I wish to be...maybe never will be...girl can dream right :) Let's be real...tap it or leave it...this ass ain't going anywhere...

But luckily I've been spotting some great, little bit on the more modest, vintage swimwear (most right at Anthropologie) that have amazing patterns to spruce up a one piece! How great are those ruffles on that J.Crew sunwear! SO CUTE! (available in 5 gorgeous colors)!

So inflate your swimmies and a grab a refreshing cocktail...summer time will be here before you know it!

DIY: There's a Method to this Scarf....

(image from hellohoneyno.com)
So the ladies of Method (you see their soap everywhere!) are a pretty crafty bunch! They also just gave me my next DIY project!

This innovative clan gets together once a month for lunch to do some handy work on a project in an hour or less by focusing on using products they already have, such as this instance, old t-shirts!

Its a genius idea they picked up from various blogs, including a braided version at This Old Dress.

I am in love with the colors above and the process seems simple enough to be rocking a new scarf by the weekend!

1.    grab some cotton t-shirts you don’t wear anymore.  larger sizes tend to work better as do non-ribbed shirts with no side seams. small logos on the shirts work fine, too.
2.    grab a pair of fabric scissors if
you have them, otherwise any scissors will do.
3.    lay the shirt out on a flat table in front of you.
4.    cut the hem off the bottom and put it aside.
5.    cut the shirt into 1-1 1/2 ”  horizontal strips all the way up to the armpit.
6.    grab 3-4 shirt strips in bot
h hands, and gently stretch them out. the strips will naturally curl into themselves.
7.    once you have done this with many of the strips, it is time to get creative.  try draping them, wrapping one end with excess fabric, combining colors, braiding th
em, attaching beads, pins, old jewelry, etc.

Grammy Red Carpet

So I'll be honest, I wasn't all that impressed with Grammy fashion this year.  I think its because I'm not really into the futuristic style that I think everyone ends up putting on for the show. I like the thought behind it, its rock and roll bebeeee! But it ends up like you're judging who has the best costume...well you're all scaring the crap out of me, especially you Ga Ga! You looked like you were ready for the Starship Enterprise girl.

Rhianna's dress during her performance was a show stopper for sure, fuchsia with yellow and black, beautiful! And I loved Guilianna Rancic's red carpet outfit that she was interviewing in, but I can't find a photo of it anywhere! Besides that, there were a handful of outfits that were leaning to the glamorous side:

Rihanna

Selena Gomez

Beautiful Florence!

Jennifer Hudson

Jewel - so cute preggo!

Julianne Hough

Lea Michele

Joyfolie

Baby alert! Miss Zoe Jennifer Marshall has arrived this morning! (Congratulations Jenn and Todd!) I love all the wonderful babies coming into the world - seems that everyone is preggers or poppin em out these days and it is beautiful I tell ya!

So in spirit of the baby madness, I stumbled upon these adorable booties by Joyfolie.

Joyfolie started with Jessica Haley, a school teacher turned homemade bootie maker after selling one of her own daughters homemade shoes on Etsy (Love an Etsy Success Story!). Rapidly her shoes were all over the press and in high demand! While she houses a small staff now of stay at home moms, she sells a variety of manufactured and handmade products, including the cute booties you see below!

A great addition to this rise to success business? - 10% of the profits of Joyfolie go to Giving Children Hope, a non-profit organization that refurbishes medical equipment that would otherwise go in a landfill for use in impoverished areas and for disaster relief! Win...Win...Joyfully.

No Matter How You Wear It...

I think I'm in love this this Noir Fleece Jacket from ErinAlexandraKlym Etsy Shop. I love items that come with multiple uses! Made from warm and cozy hoodie fleece, this fitted jacket has an tie sash that offer a variety of different looks to choose from! Dress it up over your favorite dresses or wear it casual for a spring or fall night on the town.

Beautiful! And for $158, that's a bang for your buck for having a different look each time you wear it!
